About Me:

Growing up in the Midwest, I thought I would always be a secretary and be permanently tied to a desk for income.  Then I went through a very difficult time in my life and sought out various counselors for help.  One of them suggested I go get a massage and when I did, I had immediate relief emotionally and physically.  This made me realize how powerful touch can be.  I attended an introductory workshop at Seattle Massage School and knew I had found my true calling in life.  Not only does massage relieve stress and tension, but it greatly speeds recovery time from motor vehicle accidents, aids rehabilitation from injuries, and helps balance the emotions.

Whether you need to relax and unwind, feel a pinch in your shoulders or neck, or are rehabilitating from an injury, I can find the muscles to loosen up to make you feel new again.  Sometimes it takes deeper pressure; other times a more gentle approach works best.  Massage is a necessary part of my life now, since I tend to collect tension in my neck and shoulders and have used it to recover from two auto accidents myself, along with chiropractic care and American Shiatsu.

In my spare time I enjoy walking, practicing piano, singing and writing songs, and spending time in nature.

About Me:

Originally, I became interested in massage as a hobby.  A friend invited me into a club where a retired massage therapist was giving training to friends and family.  I enjoyed it greatly, but college and then work prevented me from making it a major part of my life.  Then, in the early 2000’s, I realized that corporate life was simply not for me, and decided to transition into something I remembered I loved doing, massage.  I became professionally certified in California.  I found that being a massage therapist brought better mental and physical balance both to my clients and myself.  I was part of a sports massage team in the SF Bay area, and worked with personal trainers on a regular basis.

Once I moved up to the Seattle area in 2009, I found my practice became more focused around deep tissue work- relieving chronic pain, providing aid in injury recovery, and helping to correct posture related issues.  I find that many people live with some amount of day-to-day pain, and firmly believe they don’t need to.  I get a great deal of satisfaction knowing that I can be a part of making that a reality.

About me:
From a young age I was exposed to sports, and ended up going through a number of injuries. Always irritated to be on the injured list I started to question, why do injuries happen and how can I reduce them? When I was nineteen I went through a training course that fatigued my body to a point where I was unable to play sports for 6 months. After going to the doctor and chiropractor I finally decided to see a massage therapist. At first I was doubtful, thinking massage was only about relaxation. After the therapist introduced herself she gave me a postural assessment and explained to me how my hips were off level and how I could change that over time.  As the massage continued, she mentioned how the muscles in my legs were actually tight and causing pain in my lower back. This is where my interest in massage began.  After going to massage school, I learned so much more about the body and how it works, benefiting my overall goal of having a strong and healthy body.  My skills range from Swedish & Deep Tissue all the way to Therapeutic / Sports massage.  I would like to assist my clients by not just hearing their concerns and massaging them but also educating them in ways to self-care for the body. Even if the person is hurting and I’m not there to help them, at least I can share some ideas that can assist them in their time of pain.

About Me:

A lifelong passion for physical activity originally informed my interest in massage. Years as a professional gardener put me in need of bodywork, and a fascination with the mechanics of the human body shepherded my career into being over fifteen years ago. This combination of influences has pointed me in the direction that I’ve taken to further my massage studies: I practice everything from Intraoral massage to treat TMJ disorders to isolated stretching and orthopedic massage to help educate an individual about their whole body’s ability to heal. Injury treatment has been a long-standing part of my practice, as have relaxation massage, massage cupping techniques, and deeper work facilitated by barefoot Ashiatsu massage. In my free time I continue to garden, further my varied education and create a home for my family.

About Me:

I am a caring and compassionate woman with a passion for massage. I believe that every BODY needs touch.  I am legally blind (can see in front of me but do not have periphial vision) and let my fingers do the walking.  They feel the muscles, tendons and tissues surrounding them, and assess what is going on inside the body faster and easier than the eyes.  I love what I do and am looking forward to furthering my education in the areas of reflexology and acupressure.
